BLACKPINK's Jisoo and British Singer Zayn Malik Team Up for Their First Duet Titled 'Eyes Closed'

K-pop meets British pop in one of the most talked-about upcoming collaborations of 2025. Jisoo of BLACKPINK and Former member of One Direction, Zayn Malik, are formally collaborating on a new song called 'Eyes Closed.' Fans from both fandoms went into a frenzy after the unexpected announcement was made on 8th October The song is set to drop on 10th October, and expectations are already sky-high for what is being called a "global crossover moment." 

The two celebrities, who come from very different but equally vast musical worlds, will be working together musically for the first time.

Teaser Poster and Instagram Buzz

Jisoo made the unexpected announcement, first on 8th October that she would collaborate with British musician Zayn Malik on the digital track 'Eyes Closed.' The release date is set for 10th October. With the description, "JISOO X ZAYN Digital Single EYES CLOSED," she posted a teaser poster on Instagram ahead of time, featuring the two musicians dressed in stylish black. The lyric, "Said, oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed / Better if we keep it where we don't know," was hinted at in a brief audio teaser that accompanied the visual. 

In addition, Zayn also reposted Jisoo's story and post, acknowledging their upcoming project. For both artists, this marks a milestone: their first ever collaboration.

A Look Back & What They've Been Up To

Jisoo's EP Amortage, which was released earlier in 2025, was her most recent solo endeavour prior to this duet. 'Earthquake,' ‘Your Love,' 'Tears,' and 'Hugs & Kisses' were among the songs on that EP. After leaving One Direction, Zayn has continued to develop his solo identity, focusing on contemplative, personal genres and deep R&B. 

It's interesting to note that the seeds of this collaboration might have been planted earlier in July when Zayn and his daughter Khai went to see BLACKPINK's Deadline World Tour performance in New York. He later wrote on social media that "me & Khai loved it." That moment prompted speculation about future work together. Jisoo is juggling her group activities as well. BLACKPINK is still on tour, stopping both before and after this window for releases.
