Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s Divorce Settled, Judge Approves Agreement

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s divorce has been officially completed, with a judge from the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County signing off on the arrangement on 2nd May, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The singer, aged 42, and Asghari, aged 30, will be recognized as legally single starting from 2nd December 2024, adhering to California’s mandatory six-month waiting period. The couple tied the knot on 9th June 2022 but separated on 30th July 2023, citing irreconcilable differences leading to the breakdown of their marriage, as stated in court papers.

Asghari filed for divorce on 16th August 2023. The judge’s approval follows the settlement reached by Spears and Asghari in their divorce proceedings. Per documents acquired by PEOPLE, the former partners adhered to the terms of their prenuptial agreement, as initially reported by TMZ.

According to a source cited by PEOPLE, the divorce was amicable, with no challenges to the prenup. The source also debunked previous reports suggesting financial distress on Spears’ part, clarifying that she isn’t listed on Asghari’s lease nor is she paying his rent.

In the aftermath of their separation, Asghari expressed gratitude for his time with Spears, considering it a blessing. He emphasized the importance of maintaining respect and positivity even after parting ways.

Additionally, Spears recently resolved a legal dispute with her father Jamie Spears over legal fees following the conclusion of her conservatorship, settling for an undisclosed amount in Los Angeles Superior Court on April 25th.
