The Grammy-winning artist Cardi B was recently seen in Los Angeles, donning an outfit that remarkably mirrored one worn by the late Princess Diana. While out shopping, Cardi sported a white crewneck sweatshirt with "Harvard" printed on it, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the beloved vintage design famously worn by Diana.

Cardi’s ensemble was a near-exact replica of Diana’s iconic look from 1997. She paired the sweatshirt with white bike shorts, high-top sneakers, and crew socks, completing the outfit with a black handbag and black sunglasses. To add her touch, she accessorised with a chain choker necklace and styled her hair in a short cut, paying homage to Diana's signature hairstyle. On her Instagram Stories, Cardi shared a closer look at her hairstyle and proudly displayed a new piercing.

In the Instagram clip, Cardi exclaimed, "I came here for one thing and look what Harrison did to me," while showing off her ear adorned with piercings. She gave a shout-out to her piercer, Harrison McCall, highlighting the new additions that complemented her Diana-inspired look.

The Harvard sweatshirt has a poignant history. Diana’s personal trainer, who received the sweatshirt from her, shared its story when it went up for auction. The sweatshirt, originally gifted to Diana by Sir Richard Branson, became her go-to gym attire. Diana's trainer recounted how the sweatshirt was Diana's most worn top during her gym visits, a deliberate choice to shift media focus away from her attire to more significant issues.

In a letter accompanying the auction, Diana's trainer wrote, "This sweatshirt was given to HRH by Sir Richard Branson. It became her most worn top on her regular visits to the gym. She felt there were far more important issues to focus on in the world than her gym attire and therefore decided that wearing the famous Virgin sweatshirt to every session would be a good way to stop the media frenzy.”

The letter also revealed a touching detail: "A few months before her untimely death, she called me to say she had left a few sweatshirts for me. Amongst them, this one — which I have now decided to part with." This piece of memorabilia not only symbolised Diana's practical approach to media attention but also served as a cherished memory for those close to her.
