Charlie Cox And Vincent D’Onofrio on Returning To ‘Daredevil: Born Again’: “Fun”

Charlie Cox’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Daredevil stirred up quite the buzz when it was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con back in 2022. The news broke just before Hollywood was hit by strikes, temporarily halting production on the highly anticipated series, ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

Originally, the plan for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was quite different. The series, set to feature Cox reprising his role as the iconic vigilante, Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio returning as the formidable crime boss, Wilson Fisk (also known as Kingpin), was initially intended to have no ties to the previous Daredevil series on Netflix.

However, Marvel Studios decided on a complete overhaul of the show’s creative direction during the Hollywood strikes, bringing in new showrunners and directors to give the series a fresh look.

Fast forward nearly six years since Cox and D’Onofrio last graced our screens together as Daredevil and Kingpin, respectively. Fans were thrilled to learn that their favourite duo would be back in action for Disney+’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ slated for release in March 2025.

During the recent Disney Upfront presentation in New York City, D’Onofrio couldn’t contain his excitement about reuniting with Cox. “It’s fun,” he remarked, highlighting the strong rapport they share both on and off-screen. Despite their characters’ on-screen conflicts, D’Onofrio praised their seamless working relationship, emphasizing their shared understanding of scripts and production processes.

Cox echoed D’Onofrio’s sentiments, emphasizing the ease of working together due to their mutual respect and aligned vision.
