Chris Hemsworth to Get Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Chris Hemsworth has been a big name in the movie industry for years, largely thanks to his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, he’s about to receive a special honour that places him among some of his fellow Marvel stars. Hemsworth, who has broken numerous records as Thor, is set to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Adding another highlight to his illustrious career, the Australian actor will be celebrated for his contributions to film with this prestigious accolade. The Hollywood Walk of Fame’s official Instagram account recently announced that Hemsworth will receive the 2,781st star on 23rd May.

The ceremony will be live-streamed on the official Walk of Fame website. The announcement detailed: “Actor Chris Hemsworth will be honoured with the 2,781st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, 23rd May, at 11:30 am PT at 6819 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Ovation Hollywood.”

Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, expressed the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s delight in recognising an actor who has consistently proven his talent. She added, “Along with his many fans, I am sure his fellow Australians will be thrilled to know that we are adding another talented Aussie to our iconic Walk of Fame.”

Filmmaker George Miller and actor Robert Downey Jr. will be guest speakers at the event. Interestingly, despite his significant contributions to the MCU and his Oscar-winning status, Robert Downey Jr. has yet to receive a star on the Walk of Fame.

Other Marvel actors who have been honoured with stars include Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Hopkins, Paul Rudd, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Salma Hayek and Benedict Cumberbatch.
