Cillian Murphy Will Return For ‘Peaky Blinders’ Movie

The forthcoming ‘Peaky Blinders’ film, which is directed by Steven Knight, has officially confirmed that Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby, a Brummie mobster. The story is set against the backdrop of World War II, and filming is planned to begin in September at Digbeth Loc Studios in Birmingham.

Knight expressed his delight at Murphy’s participation, saying, “He’s coming back for it, for sure. We’re filming it in September in Digbeth, right next door.” This affirmation comes after Murphy’s own excitement for the endeavour, demonstrating his belief in Knight’s narrative skills and readiness to play the part again—even if it meant playing an older Tommy Shelby.
