About 'Clayface'

Directed by 'Speak No Evil' filmmaker James Watkins, the film 'Clayface' leans into psychological and body horror. The script comes from Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, with the project moving forward after Flanagan delivered a screenplay that impressed DC Studios leadership.

Like 'Joker,' the film serves as an origin story for a classic Batman villain and is expected to carry an R rating. However, unlike 'Joker,' 'Clayface' is part of the main DC Universe rather than a standalone story.

DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran have described the film as grounded, unsettling and deeply terrifying, with a more horror-driven approach than many traditional comic book adaptations.

'Clayface' is set to arrive in theatres on 23rd October, aiming for a Halloween-season release. Before that, DC will launch 'Supergirl' on 26th June as part of the studio's expanding theatrical slate.
