Dakota Johnson Is 'So Open' to Becoming a Mother: "Bring It On"

During an interview with Bustle, Dakota Johnson discussed the possibility of starting a family. Johnson, who has been dating Coldplay singer Chris Martin since 2017, mentioned that she is open to the idea of becoming a mother. Martin shares his children, Apple and Moses, with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, who is 51.

"I'm so open to that," Johnson expressed about motherhood. "I've reached a point where I really want to embrace everything that life has in store. As a woman, I find the idea of motherhood to be truly magical and extraordinary."

Johnson continued, "If it's meant to happen, I'm totally on board with it. We have such a short time on this earth, so if motherhood is part of my journey, I welcome it with open arms." In the interview, Johnson also shared her feelings about being a stepmother to Martin and Paltrow's teenagers. "I adore those kids with all my heart," Johnson said. "They mean the world to me."

In a previous interview with Marie Claire back in March 2016, Johnson expressed her fondness for the idea of settling down and starting a family. "The thought of being at home, picking up children from school, preparing dinner, and then having the husband return home – it all sounds incredibly appealing to me because I never had that growing up," she revealed.

For Johnson, the notion of establishing a conventional family life holds great allure. "It just seems so inviting," Johnson noted.

At the time, Johnson had the notion that she could portray such a life in a movie and still lead her own life. "In my mind, I thought, 'Well, I'll just act out that scenario in a film and continue with my own life,' as strange as it sounds," she explained.
