DC Universe CEO James Gunn Responds to Rumours About His Upcoming Superman Movie
The co-head of DC Universe, James Gunn, has directly addressed the swirling rumours surrounding his upcoming ‘Superman’ movie. Using Instagram’s Threads feature, Gunn engaged with fans and clarified that neither he nor anyone else from the studio had officially released the movie’s supposed logline, debunking claims that the film was set in 2021. Gunn categorically stated, “No,” in response to speculation about the movie’s timeline being in 2021, affirming that this information was inaccurate.
In an interview in 2023, Gunn acknowledged that while there were elements of truth based on his previous statements, the leaked plot details were not entirely accurate. He emphasized that ‘Superman’, played by David Corenswet, is not depicted as a cub reporter but as a fully established thirty-year-old journalist. Gunn also expressed gratitude towards his production team for overcoming challenges, including strikes, to keep the project on track for its scheduled release in July 2025.
