Did Prince George Sneak a Taylor Swift Bracelet Into His Birthday Photo?

Prince George’s style shines in his latest birthday portrait, taken by his mother, Kate Middleton. As he turns 11, the new photo released by Princess Kate and Prince William marks the occasion with a black-and-white shot of George in a dark blazer and pants, complemented by a white shirt. A closer look reveals an unexpected accessory: a string bracelet reminiscent of those popular among Taylor Swift fans at her Eras Tour concerts.

For Prince William’s 42nd birthday recently, he took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London, where they met the singer and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Photos of the royal family with Swift shared on Instagram showed the children’s joyful expressions. Weeks later, George and Charlotte were seen wearing string bracelets, a trend boosted by Swift’s song lyrics about DIY jewellery from her 2022 album, ‘Midnights.’

George and Charlotte sported these bracelets during separate outings with their parents. George’s bracelet was also visible when he and Prince William attended the UEFA European Championship in Germany, where they cheered for England in a match against Spain. Simultaneously, Princess Charlotte enjoyed a day at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships with Princess Kate and Pippa Middleton, wearing two string bracelets herself.

Princess Kate’s Wimbledon appearance was significant as it was her second public event of 2024 amid her ongoing cancer treatment. A palace insider shared with PEOPLE that this time with her family would be energizing for her, as the royals traditionally take a break from public duties during the summer.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte aren’t the only royals sporting string bracelets. King Charles has also been seen wearing a red and yellow twisted string bracelet, first spotted during his visit to Wales with Queen Camilla and later in the Channel Islands and at the State Opening of Parliament. The King’s bracelet, while different from his grandchildren’s, appeared around the same time, suggesting a recent addition to their accessories. Previously, King Charles has shown his affection for his grandchildren through fashion, such as a dinosaur tie thought to be a gift from them.

King Charles’s bracelet was notably visible when he waved after leaving the Houses of Parliament, Queen Camilla’s 77th birthday. The monarch appeared in good spirits as he continued his own cancer treatment.
