Drew Barrymore recently shared the one project that might tempt her back into film: a reimagining of the 1992 cult favourite 'Death Becomes Her.' In her dream casting, she'd team up with longtime friends Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston to bring the dark comedy back to life.

During a recent segment on 'The Drew Barrymore Show,' the actress explained that she and Sandler have often joked about working together again, tossing around ideas like a Three's Company reboot. But one concept she feels strongly about is reimagining Death Becomes Her for modern audiences.

The original dark comedy, directed by Robert Zemeckis, starred Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and others. It followed two rival women entangled in vanity, betrayal, and an immortality potion. The film became a cult hit, earned an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, and even inspired a Broadway adaptation decades later.

Drew Barrymore is Keen to Work With Adam Sandler

Drew Barrymore said that Sandler would be her top choice to work with on a new project, pointing to their beloved collaborations in 'The Wedding Singer,' '50 First Dates,' and 'Blended.' She added that she would also love to team up with Aniston, who has her own long-standing onscreen partnership with Sandler through hits like ‘Murder Mystery’ and its sequel.

Drew Barrymore and Aniston previously worked together in the 2003 ensemble film 'He's Just Not That Into You.' In 2023, the trio even discussed the idea of remaking Three's Company on Barrymore’s talk show while Aniston and Sandler promoted 'Murder Mystery 2.' At the time, Barrymore jokingly volunteered to play Janet, the role originated by Joyce DeWitt, since Aniston wasn’t interested in cutting her hair short for the part.

Reboots aren’t new territory for Drew Barrymore. She breathed new life into another beloved 70s television classic by bringing 'Charlie's Angels' to the big screen in 2000, followed by its action-packed 2003 sequel, 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.' Together, those films grossed more than $523 million worldwide, cementing her ability to turn nostalgic titles into modern hits.

Although no formal plans are underway, Barrymore's idea of teaming up once again with Sandler and Aniston for a new spin on 'Death Becomes Her' has sparked excitement, leaving fans imagining the return of a comedy dream team to the big screen.
