Dwayne Johnson Celebrates 52nd Birthday: What’s Next for the Superstar, Including His Return to ‘Moana’!

Dwayne Johnson marks another trip around the sun as he turns 52!

The multi-talented actor, once known as The Rock, continues to juggle an impressive array of roles – from entertainer and entrepreneur to family man and influential public figure.

Named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2016, Johnson recently graced the cover of PEOPLE’s special 50th anniversary issue. Reflecting on his diverse successes, he emphasizes the importance of gratitude, a principle that guides his ventures, including his production company Seven Bucks, Teremana tequila, and the newly launched skincare line Papatui. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE in March, Johnson expressed his dedication to holistic self-care.

Rooted in his heritage and family values, Johnson’s connection to his roots is evident in his brand Papatui, inspired by his role as a proud father (“Papa”) to daughters Jasmine, Tiana, and Simone. Maintaining strong bonds with friends like Emily Blunt, Kevin Hart, and Chris Janson, Johnson prioritizes relationships over fame or business.

On the professional front, Johnson’s career flourishes, with projects ranging from his return to WWE to sequels like ‘Fast X: Part 2’ and ‘Jungle Cruise 2’. Notably, he’s set to reprise his role as Maui in the animated sequel ‘Moana 2’, slated for release in November, alongside a live-action adaptation scheduled for 2026.

Teasing the ‘Moana’ sequel at CinemaCon, Johnson expressed profound gratitude for the franchise’s impact on his life. Upcoming roles include starring alongside Chris Evans in the holiday action-comedy ‘Red One’ and portraying UFC champion Mark Kerr in ‘The Smashing Machine’ alongside Blunt.

As for his birthday celebration, while specifics remain unknown, if it’s anything like his heartfelt tribute to his mother’s 75th birthday last October, Johnson is undoubtedly in for a special day.
