Elizabeth Olsen recently reflected on her college years and the reason she chose not to attend her graduation ceremony at New York University. During a new interview with InStyle to promote her upcoming film 'Eternity,' the 36-year-old actress shared that she graduated in 2013 but decided not to walk at the ceremony because she didn't personally know anyone from that graduating class.

While unpacking items from her carry-on bag during the interview, Olsen revealed a purple NYU cap and spoke about her time studying acting at the Atlantic Theatre Company, which she described as one of her favourite experiences during university.

Elizabeth Olsen once admitted that beginning at NYU felt intimidating, especially because she didn’t have any friends in her specific program. Olsen explained that the transition was daunting but ultimately rewarding, as it gave her the foundation to pursue acting with confidence.

Despite coming from a famous family—she's the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — Elizabeth worked hard to carve out her own identity in Hollywood. Her breakout performances quickly established her as one of the most respected actors of her generation.
