Host Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the evening with humour, jesting about Robert Downey Jr.’s past struggles, Robert De Niro’s romance, and the Academy’s notable snub of ‘Barbie’ director Greta Gerwig. ‘Oppenheimer’ led the nominations with 13, followed by ‘Poor Things’ with 11 and ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ with 10.

Although ‘Oppenheimer’ clinched the ‘Best Picture’ title, the charismatic Ryan Gosling stole the spotlight with a lively performance of ‘I’m Just Ken’ alongside Mark Ronson and a Ken ensemble, including Simu Liu and Kingsley Ben-Adir.
The night unfolded with surprises, including a naked John Cena paying homage to a historic Oscars streaker while presenting Best Costume Design. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito shared a Twins reunion during the presentation of Best Visual Effects and Best Film Editing. The ceremony ended with a standing ovation for Al Pacino, who presented the Best Picture award for the historical drama directed by Christopher Nolan.
Behind the scenes, notable interactions included Emily Blunt and John Krasinski chatting with Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.’s wife Susan, Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s emotional Best Supporting Actress win, and playful moments like Ryan Gosling’s embrace with Emily Blunt and Mark Ruffalo’s impromptu dance during a commercial break.
