Fans Think Blake Lively Is Featured in The New ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Teaser

Speculation is swirling among fans about whether Blake Lively will appear in the highly anticipated superhero movie ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ following the release of a new teaser.

The teaser, which showcases Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their iconic roles, has sparked rumours that Lively, 36, might make a cameo as Lady Deadpool, a female variant of Deadpool from an alternate universe.

In the clip, around the 30-second mark, viewers notice a pair of legs in a red and black suit walking through an orange mist, just after Reynolds Deadpool says in a voiceover, “I’m about to lose everything that I’ve ever cared about.” The brief but tantalizing glimpse has led many to believe that this mysterious figure could be Lady Deadpool.

“Willing to bet Blake Lively’s playing Lady Deadpool. It would make perfect sense given that she’s married to Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds,” one fan speculated on social media. Lively and Reynolds have been married since 2012 and share four children.

Another keen observer echoed the sentiment, writing, “My husband said based on the costume it’s Lady Deadpool and he thinks it’s Blake Lively!” The excitement continued with others declaring, “It’ll make absolutely ZERO sense if anyone other than #BlakeLively will play #LadyDeadpool,” praising the potential casting as “the best decision ever made in the history of decision making.”

Adding to the film’s buzz, it was announced earlier this week that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has officially received an R rating for “strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore, and sexual references.” This makes it the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to earn an R rating, following in the footsteps of the first two ‘Deadpool’ movies, which were also rated R but released by 20th Century Fox.

In a May interview with PEOPLE, Reynolds and Jackman reflected on their 17-year friendship, with Reynolds drawing a parallel between his bond with Jackman and his marriage to Lively. “I think the secret sauce to a long-lasting Hollywood friendship is not too dissimilar to having a partner or a marriage,” Reynolds said to Jackman.

“I am genuinely rooting for you, all the time. I want you to win. It’s the same way I feel about Blake. As I’m rooting for her, I know she’s rooting for me, and it’s why we’re so connected,” he continued. The two actors previously worked together in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ where Reynolds first portrayed Deadpool. Their chemistry on and off-screen has always been a highlight for fans.
