Find Out What Happened to Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez’s Missing Crossover Episode

Jennifer Stone, who portrayed Harper in the beloved sitcom ‘Wizards of Waverly Place,’ recently shed light on a long-standing mystery regarding why Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez never shared a crossover episode. Stone revealed this intriguing detail on her podcast, ‘Wizards of Waverly Pod,’ co-hosted with David DeLuise.
In a recent episode, the hosts reminisced about a memorable Fashion Week scene from season two before addressing a listener’s question about the 2009 crossover episode, ‘Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana.’ This unique episode, set on a cruise ship, featured characters from ‘The Suite Life on Deck,’ ‘Hannah Montana’ and ‘Wizards of Waverly Place,’ offering fans a delightful mix of comedy and chaos.

However, eagle-eyed viewers noticed a glaring absence: Selena Gomez’s character, Alex Russo, never shared the screen with Miley Cyrus’s Hannah Montana.
DeLuise, curious about this omission, asked if there had been any tension between the two stars during filming. Stone provided a candid response, explaining that the two pop icons had a complicated history. She noted that they were often friends, but sometimes not, and attributed the fluctuating relationship to typical high school drama. Stone hinted that their shared romantic history with Nick Jonas might have been a contributing factor, describing the situation as “messy high school nonsense.”
According to Stone, both Cyrus and Gomez dated Jonas at different times, which may have led to some friction. Cyrus and Jonas reportedly dated from 2006 to 2007, while Gomez’s relationship with Jonas spanned from 2008 to 2009, with a brief reunion in 2010. However, any animosity they might have had over Jonas has long since faded. Stone reassured listeners, “They’re all good now.”
In interviews over the years, Gomez and Cyrus have downplayed any talk of a feud. Gomez once described their past as a “puppy love” phase, and both stars have demonstrated mutual respect and support in public. Notably, Cyrus defended Gomez against criticism from fashion designer Stefano Gabbana in 2018, and in 2020, the pair discussed mental health issues during an episode of Cyrus’s Instagram Live show, ‘Bright Minded.’
