Bruno Mars has been officially announced as the latest Icon in the ongoing ‘Fortnite Festival’, replacing Sabrina Carpenter. Starting 18th June, players can access Bruno Mars-inspired skins and items through the Fortnite shop and unlock them via the season pass. According to a press release, the game’s main stage has also been updated to reflect a “modern, angular aesthetic” complete with neon lights.
Several tracks have been made available for free in the rhythm game, including ‘Dance Therapy’, ‘Into The Underworld’, ‘Move’ and ‘Let It Burn’. Meanwhile, players have the option to purchase ‘Die With A Smile’, Mars’ collaboration with Lady Gaga, and ‘APT.’ featuring BLACKPINK’s Rosé. The Silk Sonic hit ‘Leave The Door Open’, a joint effort between Mars and Anderson .Paak, is also included in the season pass.

Fans Slam Lack of Variety in Bruno Mars Fortnite Update
Despite the additions, many fans expressed disappointment online. On Reddit, one user felt let down by the focus on an artist who already had existing content in the game. They remarked that Epic Games had teased deadmau5’s arrival, only to highlight an artist already featured in Fortnite. Others echoed similar sentiments, with one player commenting that pop music continued to dominate the Festival and hoped future updates would bring more variety.
Another fan expressed frustration over misleading in-game teasers, saying they had expected something fresh but were instead met with a return of a familiar face. They indicated that they would likely skip this season entirely.
Alongside the Bruno Mars update, Epic Games has also implemented several gameplay enhancements based on community feedback. These include the return of all-time leaderboards for individual tracks, a streamlined method for selecting a ‘Jam Track’, and a new ‘Random Track’ option.
While Bruno Mars recently concluded a residency in Las Vegas, he is set to return to Dolby Live at Park MGM in August for another string of performances.
