Frank Miller Documentary ‘American Genius’ Unveils Trailer And One-Night Theatrical Release

The highly anticipated documentary ‘Frank Miller: American Genius’ is set for a special one-night-only theatrical showing, as announced by the film’s distributor, Picturehouse, along with the release of its trailer. 

This unique event will be simultaneously screened in Cinemark theatres nationwide, featuring a live introduction with Frank Miller himself, moderated by actress Rosario Dawson.

Attendees will receive an exclusive custom collectable. The main event will take place in Los Angeles at the Cinemark Playa Vista, with the introduction live-streamed to all participating theatres across the country. Additionally, New York City will host its own sneak preview event at the Angelika Film Center, also featuring a live introduction with Miller, moderated by author Neil Gaiman, and offering the exclusive collectable to all ticket holders.

American Genius delves into the illustrious nearly fifty-year career of Frank Miller, the iconic comic book artist and writer renowned for seminal works such as ‘The Dark Knight Returns, Sin City’, and ‘300’. Miller’s influence extends across Batman, Daredevil, and Wolverine comics, shaping the characters for generations across various media.

The documentary includes interviews and appearances from notable figures like Neal Adams, Robert Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Jim Lee, Zack Snyder, and Stan Lee. It is produced, written, and directed by Miller’s long-time collaborator Silenn Thomas through their company, Frank Miller Ink.

The film captures Miller’s return to travel and work on new projects, revealing the intricate craft of comic book creation. It showcases the inspirations and contributions of women, artists, writers, craftsmen, and a dedicated global fanbase. ‘Frank Miller: American Genius’ offers fans an intimate exploration of Miller’s world, celebrating his enduring legacy and influence.
