‘Freaky Friday 2’: Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis Reveal Sequel’s Title

Fans of the beloved 2003 film ‘Freaky Friday’ have reason to celebrate, as stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have officially revealed the title of the long-anticipated sequel. During Disney’s D23 fan event in Anaheim on August 9th, the duo teased details about the follow-up to the hit movie, much to the delight of the crowd.

Curtis, who played the role of Tess in the original film, playfully hinted at the big reveal, saying, “We have a new title, I don’t know if we should share it here.” To which Lohan, who portrayed Anna, responded with enthusiasm, “These are the best fans in the world.” Together, they announced the new title in unison: ‘Freakier Friday.’

To further excite fans, they also unveiled first-look photos from the upcoming movie, showing their characters in action. One image features Tess and Anna driving a convertible, while another captures the mother-daughter duo screaming in classic ‘Freaky Friday’ fashion. Disney Studios echoed the announcement on social media, posting, “Things just got freakier. #FreakierFriday, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, is coming to theatres in 2025.”

Curtis reflected on the sequel, saying, “For me, it feels like no time has passed. We both get to play mums.” Lohan agreed, adding that it didn’t even feel like work and that the experience was “more fun because it’s more emotional.”

Lohan also expressed her gratitude to Curtis, saying, “Seriously, the only reason we are back here doing this is because of you.” Back in March, Lohan confirmed that a sequel was in the works, stating during an interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live that “It’s happening.” While she couldn’t share more details at the time, Lohan assured fans that both she and Curtis were “excited” about the project.
