George Clooney is embracing the calm that comes with age. The Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker recently shared that he feels more grounded and less easily frustrated as he gets older. Speaking with CBS Sunday Morning in an interview, Clooney, now 64, said he's comfortable with the natural process of ageing, viewing it as a privilege rather than a concern.
George Clooney's Ageing Brought Him Peace
George Clooney explained that ageing has brought him a sense of peace and patience he didn't have in his younger years. He admitted that when he was younger, he often felt the need to be right about everything—an attitude that has softened over time. The actor reflected on how this shift has influenced his relationship with his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, with whom he recently celebrated over a decade of marriage.

During the interview, George Clooney noted that he and Amal have built a relationship rooted in mutual respect and understanding. He mentioned that they’ve never had a serious argument throughout their marriage, something he attributes to both their maturity and shared values.
Clooney said that at this stage in life, he doesn't feel the need to debate over small issues—if Amal wants something done a certain way, he's happy to let it be, knowing that harmony matters more than being right.
The actor credited their successful relationship to being deeply supportive of each other's work and passions. Reflecting on how his younger self might have reacted differently, Clooney acknowledged that he likely would have been more defensive or prideful in his 20s or 30s. Now, he prefers to focus on what truly matters—family, love, and balance.
