George Clooney Teases Smarter, Older 'Ocean's Eleven' Crew in Upcoming Sequel

George Clooney is reuniting the original Ocean's Eleven crew, and this time, they’re coming back older but sharper than ever.

A fourth film in the popular heist franchise, 'Ocean's 14,' is officially moving forward. Clooney will return alongside familiar faces, including Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and others. According to Clooney, now 64, the story leans into the idea that the characters may not be as quick on their feet as they once were, but they're still clever enough to pull off something big.

Clooney explained that the appeal of the sequel lies in watching a group that knows they've slowed down but can still outthink the system. In the new movie, Danny Ocean and his crew have lost a step and must find creative ways to work around their limitations rather than relying on speed or strength.

The upcoming film also takes inspiration from the 1979 classic 'Going in Style,' which followed a group of elderly criminals planning one last job. That movie was later remade in 2017, and the Ocean's franchise itself is famously a modern reimagining of the 1960 Rat Pack film.

George Clooney previously confirmed that Warner Bros. has approved the budget and that the main challenge now is coordinating everyone's schedules. The team hopes to begin filming 'Ocean's 14' in October next year.

The Ocean's universe has continued to expand since the original trilogy, including the 2018 spin-off 'Ocean's 8,' led by Sandra Bullock as Danny Ocean's sister, Debbie. A prequel centred on Danny's parents, produced by and starring Margot Robbie, is also in development.

Outside of 'Ocean's 14,' George Clooney currently stars in Noah Baumbach's 'Jay Kelly' on Netflix and is set to appear in the upcoming French Netflix series 'Dix Pour Cent,' also known as 'Call My Agent.'
