The franchise was revitalized in 2023 by Takashi Yamazaki's 'Godzilla Minus One,' a moving tale set in post-World War II Japan that centers on the struggle of a disgraced pilot in the face of Godzilla's horrific reappearance. With its stunning sights and rich emotional content, the movie became the highest-grossing 'Godzilla' picture ever made in Japan and won the first Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for the franchise.

Minus One's compelling tale and eye-catching presentation won accolades from both critics and fans, igniting curiosity about the film's future. Now, the impending, 'Godzilla Minus Zero,' will carry on the tale under Yamazaki's artistic vision, that was made possible by its international popularity.
