Over the years, they have experienced life's highs and lows together—milestone birthdays, breakups and the blending of their families. Paltrow fondly mentioned that their children once formed a band together when they were young and later attended high school side by side. She praised Kate Hudson not only as a talented performer, but also as a successful entrepreneur, a gifted singer and a devoted mother.

Kate Hudson was honoured at the festival for her Oscar-nominated performance in 'Song Sung Blue,' directed by Craig Brewer and co-starring Hugh Jackman. The film tells the true story of a married couple who created a popular Neil Diamond tribute band in Wisconsin.
