Love is quite literally in the Tuscan air as Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page team up for 'You, Me & Tuscany,' a sun-soaked romantic comedy filled with charm, twists and undeniable chemistry. The stars recently spoke with PEOPLE and shared an early look at their vibrant new film, produced by Will Packer.
Halle Bailey Shares on 'You, Me & Tuscany'
Bailey, 25, explained that she was instantly drawn to the script written by Ryan and Kristin Engle, saying the story immediately captured her imagination. She plays Anna, a woman who impulsively begins living in an abandoned villa in Tuscany—despite barely knowing the owner. Her bold choice launches her into a whirlwind of unexpected adventure, complicated secrets and a budding romance.
Halle Bailey described being intrigued by Anna’s passion, ambition and personal journey, noting that the film ultimately delivers the kind of uplifting, feel-good energy audiences often crave.

Regé-Jean Page's Thoughts Working on 'You, Me & Tuscany'
Regé-Jean Page, 37, who portrays a cousin of the villa's owner, revealed that it took little convincing for him to sign on. After a brief conversation, he received a message from Packer asking simply whether he’d be interested in "Tuscany in the summer," and he instantly agreed.
Page said the project offered a chance to explore a dreamy, escapist setting while telling a story about rediscovering oneself far from everyday responsibilities. He also shared that meeting Bailey makes it easy to root for her, which makes their on-screen partnership feel natural from day one.

A Star-Studded First Meeting
The pair's real-life meet-cute happened at none other than the Met Gala. Halle Bailey recalled the excitement she felt when she learned Regé-Jean Page would be joining 'You, Me & Tuscany,' having admired his previous work. When she spotted him at the event—dressed strikingly in red—she pushed past her nerves and introduced herself, reminding herself they were about to film a movie together. Page agreed that the Met Gala is a surreal place to meet a future co-star, but said the two quickly bonded while navigating the star-packed room.
Both actors said their chemistry formed instantly. Regé-Jean Page explained that establishing trust with someone onscreen begins the moment you meet, and Bailey agreed that their connection came naturally. Their early kitchen scenes only intensified the dynamic, Page joked, adding that the heat of the setting set the tone for the rest of the shoot.
Halle Bailey admitted that she and her sister Chloe had already been fans of Regé-Jean Page because of his standout role in 'Bridgerton.' She remembered her sister excitedly insisting she confirm whether he was as kind as he seemed—something Bailey assured her was absolutely true. Page returned the compliment, saying Bailey's presence is so magnetic that even children seem delighted and bewildered to see her without her Little Mermaid fin.

Tuscany's Magic Behind the Scenes
The filming location itself added to the romance. Halle Bailey described Tuscany as almost unreal, like stepping into a live version of a screensaver, and enjoyed exploring local vineyards and taking cooking classes in her downtime. Regé-Jean Page spent much of his time driving through the countryside and admiring the landscape, calling the experience a genuine treat.
Bailey also brought along her young son, Halo, whom she shares with ex-partner DDG. She said she felt grateful to show him places she had never seen at his age, even if he won't remember the trip. She captured countless photos to share with him later, proud that he got to spend time on set with her.
'You, Me & Tuscany' arrives in theatres on 10th April 2026, bringing audiences a romantic escape to the Italian countryside with two magnetic leads at the heart of the story.
