Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, two of Hollywood's most in-demand stars, are gearing up for an intense showdown in the upcoming sci-fi thriller 'Mercy.' As part of Collider's Winter Exclusive Preview event, Amazon MGM has revealed a new official image of Pratt in the film, offering fans their latest look at the high-stakes futuristic story.
What is 'Mercy' About?
Set in the near future, 'Mercy' follows Pratt’s character, a detective accused of murdering his wife. The plot centres on his desperate attempt to clear his name as he is placed on trial before an artificial-intelligence judge, played by Ferguson. According to the film's premise, he has just 90 minutes to prove he is innocent before the AI system determines his fate.

'Mercy' arrives in theatres on 26th January 2026. Because it is an Amazon MGM production, the film is expected to stream on Prime Video or Amazon MGM+ after its theatrical release. The movie was written by Marco van Belle and directed by Timur Bekmambetov. Alongside Pratt and Ferguson, the cast includes Annabelle Wallis, Michael C. Mahone, Noah Fearnley, Kenneth Choi, Chris Sullivan, and others.
The first trailer debuted at New York Comic Con, where fans responded with overwhelming excitement, helping position 'Mercy' as one of 2026's most anticipated sci-fi films.
Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson's Rise to Stardom
Chris Pratt rose to prominence with his comedic role as Andy Dwyer on 'Parks & Recreation' before launching into blockbuster fame as Star-Lord in Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' series. Ferguson solidified her action-hero status through the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise and currently leads one of Apple TV's most acclaimed sci-fi dramas, Silo.

Looking ahead, Chris Pratt will appear in 'The Way of the Warrior Kid,' hitting theatres on Christmas Day, and will later reprise his role as Mario in 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,' arriving on 3rd April 2026.
Ferguson, meanwhile, will return for 'Silo Season 3,' star alongside Cillian Murphy in Netflix's 'The Immortal Man,' and reprise her role as Lady Jessica in 'Dune: Part Three,' releasing on 18th December 2026.
