Halle Berry is excited about her upcoming film alongside Angelina Jolie, even though their collaboration had a bumpy start. Speaking to Variety at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the 57-year-old actress gave us behind-the-screen information about the initial challenges they faced while working on 'Maude v Maude.'
Despite the rocky beginnings, Berry expressed optimism, saying, "I think that is going to serve us well in our screen time together." The X-Men star didn't hold back in praising Jolie, calling her a "formidable" co-star. She expressed her thrill at working with another woman and co-creating a story with a distinctly feminine perspective, saying, "We've been talking a lot about divorces and exes. We bonded, let's say that."

'Maude v Maude,' described as an action-thriller film, promises to showcase Berry and Jolie engaging in both physical and intellectual battles on the big screen. Directed by Roseanne Liang with a script from Scott Mosier, the film sparked a heated bidding war in April, ultimately landing in the hands of Warner Bros.

Switching gears, Berry also opened up about her 2020 film, 'Bruised,' in which she took on the roles of star, producer and director. Reflecting on the challenges she faced, she candidly shared, "Because I was a woman and a Black woman, the treatment I received and the things I had to put up with were unconscionable."

Describing the process as "hell," she emphasized the difficulty she faced, stating, "If I were a white man or even a Black man, it would have been easier. It's amazing I even made it, and a miracle Netflix bought it."
Berry's last appearance on the big screen was in 2022's 'Moonfall,' while Jolie has a lineup of projects on the horizon, including the Maria Callas biopic 'Maria,' 'Maleficent 3,' and 'Kung Fu Panda 4.'
