Here's Why Zendaya Unfollowed Tom Holland on Instagram

Zendaya kicked off the new year with a social media cleanse that left fans raising their eyebrows. The 'Euphoria' actor left no stone unturned, unfollowing everyone on Instagram, including her beau Tom Holland.

Her last post on 2nd January wasn't a cryptic farewell but rather a promotional nod to her upcoming film, 'Challengers.' Scheduled to hit the silver screen on 26th April, the romance sports drama features Zendaya alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist, under the direction of Luca Guadagnino. "Wishing you all the most beautiful new year," she wrote alongside the film’s poster.

In addition to her rendezvous with 'Challengers,' Zendaya will feature in the sequel 'Dune: Part Two' later this year, as its release was pushed to 1st March 2024. 'Euphoria' aficionados, production for the third season, starring Zendaya as Rue Bennett, is expected to kick off later in the year.

The intrigue surrounding Zendaya's Instagram exodus remains a mystery. However, this isn't the first time she's taken a hiatus from the social media buzz. In October 2021, she shared that occasionally, she needs a digital detox to ward off the anxiety and overthinking that social platforms can trigger. She emphasized her fans' desire for her happiness beyond the confines of the digital realm.

Meanwhile, Tom Holland, who still follows Zendaya on Instagram, took a similar path in August 2022. The 'Spider-Man' actor distanced himself from the online chaos to preserve his mental well-being. In a candid video, he confessed to finding platforms like Instagram and Twitter overwhelming, acknowledging the negative impact on his mental state. These days, Holland dedicates his social media presence mostly to The Brothers Trust, a charity he co-founded with his family in 2017.
