‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Trailer Reveals Epic Targaryen Battles; Watch Now

Queen Rhaenyra is determined to reclaim her throne from the usurper King as tensions escalate following the dramatic events of the first season. With Lucerys’s death sparking conflict between the Red and Green councils of House Targaryen, the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’ delves into the aftermath and ignites a civil war.

While Queen Alicent and Rhaenyra harboured some affection for each other despite their differences in the first season, the tragic incident above Shipbreaker Bay strains their relationship irreparably.

The season 2 trailer signals the onset of war as Queen Mother Alicent pushes for her son Aegon to ascend the throne, challenging Rhaenyra’s claim declared by the late King Viserys. As tensions escalate, House Velaryon aligns with Rhaenyra, setting the stage for a fierce conflict.

Fan favourites Prince Daemon and King Aegon gear up for battle, while the queens brace for the inevitable conflict. “War is coming, and neither of us may win,” warns Rhaenyra in the trailer.

Returning cast members include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, and Tom Glynn-Carney, alongside new additions such as Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox, Tom Taylor, and Vincent Regan.

Rankin, who plays Alys Rivers, teased the upcoming season as wild yet contained in an interview with Town & Country Magazine.
