Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson are set to bring a heartfelt story of love, music, and second chances to the big screen this holiday season. Focus Features has released the first trailer for 'Song Sung Blue,' a musical drama that showcases the stars as real-life Milwaukee couple Mike and Claire Sardina. The pair became known for their Neil Diamond tribute band, Lightning & Thunder, inspired by the legendary singer whose music touched generations.

What is 'Song Sung Blue' About?
The film introduces Jackman's Mike as a man yearning for a new direction in life, while Hudson’s Claire dreams of moving beyond her job as a hairdresser. Their paths align as they fall in love and begin performing together, bringing Diamond classics like 'Cherry, Cherry' and 'Sweet Caroline' to life on stage.
Directed and written by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow), 'Song Sung Blue' is based on Greg Kohs' 2008 documentary of the same name. Kohs also joins the project as an executive producer alongside Erika Hampson. The film’s official synopsis describes it as the story of two struggling musicians who create joy through music while proving that it’s never too late to pursue dreams or find love.
The cast also features Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, and others, along with musician King Princess, making her feature film debut.

Focus Features first announced the 'Song Sung Blue' in late 2024, and by December, Hudson revealed on social media that filming and recording had wrapped. She shared her excitement about working with Jackman, calling him the perfect partner on set and expressing her eagerness for audiences to experience the film.
'Song Sung Blue' hits theatres on 25th December, offering a mix of romance, music, and inspiration—just in time for the holidays.
