Is Lindsay Lohan Planning to Make Music? Kelly Clarkson Encourages Her

During an appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' alongside Ayesha Curry this week to discuss their new Netflix film 'Irish Wish,' Clarkson popped the question to Lohan about her potential return to music.

"I don’t know," replied the Mean Girls actress with a chuckle. Clarkson who released her second album 'Breakaway' in 2004, the same year Lohan debuted her first album Speak, shared words of encouragement. "I feel like we were at the same stage in our careers, so I was like, ‘Oh man… I wonder if she’s gonna release more music.’ Anyway, you should," said the 'American Idol' alum.

"Thank you. Appreciate that," responded Lohan, who also mentioned her sister Aliana's singing pursuits, saying, "But my sister’s singing, so I’m supporting her right now."

After gaining fame through films like 'The Parent Trap' and 'Life-Size,' Lindsay kick-started her music career in 2004 with 'Rumors', the lead single off 'Speak.' The song achieved gold status in the United States and earned an MTV Video Music Award nomination, while the album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, selling over a million units stateside.

She followed up with another album in 2005, 'A Little More Personal (Raw),' which produced a Billboard Hot 100 hit single with the emotional ballad 'Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father).'

In 2008, Lindsay released a standalone single called 'Bossy' before largely stepping back from music. However, she made brief returns with two more standalone tracks: 'Back to Me' in 2020 and a cover of 'Jingle Bell Rock' for her 2022 Netflix film 'Falling for Christmas.'

Throughout the 'Irish Wish' press rounds, Lindsay has hinted at the possibility of returning to music and recently told Entertainment Tonight, "We'll see. You never know." She added, "I think if I did, it would be doing a song with my sister, ‘cause that’s the path she’s on, and I want to support that."
