Jennifer Lopez Cancels Tour to Focus on Family: ‘Needs to Take Care of Herself’

Jennifer Lopez is prioritizing her well-being and family by canceling her upcoming tour, despite the heartbreak it brings.

An exclusive source close to the singer-actress says that Lopez, 54, is “devastated” to call off her summer concert tour but recognizes the importance of taking time for herself and her loved ones. “Life is a lot right now. As sad as she was to cancel the tour, she’s also relieved. She needs to take care of herself,” the source reveals.

The decision to cancel the tour, which was initially set to kick off on June 26 in Orlando, Florida, was strongly encouraged by her team. “Everyone is supportive of her focusing on family right now,” adds the source.

Lopez’s ‘This Is Me… Live’ tour, promoting her latest album and featuring her greatest hits, was slated to include stops in cities such as Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, Miami, Toronto, New York City, and Boston. It would have been her first tour since 2019’s ‘It’s My Party Tour’.

However, on May 31, Live Nation announced the cancellation, stating that Lopez is “taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.” Lopez herself expressed her sorrow to fans, saying, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time.”

The decision comes amidst reports of strain in Lopez’s marriage to Ben Affleck. The couple, who rekindled their romance before marrying in 2022, have been living separately in Los Angeles. Despite the challenges, they continue to present a united front for their children.

Recently, Lopez and her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, attended Affleck’s daughter Violet’s high school graduation alongside Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their other children, Seraphina, 15, and Sam, 12.

Lopez and Affleck were also seen together at Sam’s basketball game on June 2, sharing a kiss on the cheek outside the event. An insider says, “The graduation was a big deal. Jennifer wanted to celebrate it,” emphasizing that the “very family-oriented” couple “want to put the kids first” as they navigate their marriage challenges.
