Jeremy Allen White takes centre stage as Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biographical drama ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’, set to release in UK cinemas on 24th October. The film, written and directed by Scott Cooper, explores the creation of Springsteen’s 1982 album ‘Nebraska’—widely regarded as one of the most intimate and critically acclaimed records in the artist’s catalogue.

White, best known for his Emmy-winning performance in the series ‘The Bear’, not only portrays the iconic musician but also performs all of Springsteen’s songs himself. Jeremy Strong appears alongside him as Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime manager and producer.

The supporting cast includes Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Gaby Hoffmann, Johnny Cannizzaro, Harrison Gilbertson, Marc Maron, David Krumholtz and Chris Jaymes.

Adapted from Warren Zanes’ 2023 book, the film delves into the intensely personal process behind the making of ‘Nebraska’. In the trailer, White’s Springsteen is heard expressing that perfection wasn’t his goal—he wanted the album to feel as though it were recorded alone in a room. Meanwhile, Strong’s Landau is seen describing the album as a form of emotional repair for Springsteen, suggesting that once the musician had healed himself, he would go on to heal the world.

Footage shown earlier this year at CinemaCon included White’s powerful performance of Springsteen’s 1975 breakthrough single ‘Born to Run’, the song that first earned the singer a spot on the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 40.

Springsteen Endorses Biopic with Cooper, Cobb and Cast On Board

Cooper adapted the screenplay himself and is producing the film alongside Zanes and Scott Stuber, as well as Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson of the Gotham Group. Both Springsteen and Landau are involved in the project, which features musical input from producer Dave Cobb, known for his previous work with Springsteen.

During the CinemaCon presentation, White described the opportunity to play Springsteen as a dream fulfilled and said he felt fortunate to have the musician’s full support throughout the making of the film.
