Jeremy Renner’s Marvel Return in Question After Snowplough Accident

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) were understandably worried after Jeremy Renner, the actor behind Hawkeye, suffered a serious snowplough accident in 2023. Thankfully, Renner has made a significant recovery and recent statements hint at his potential return as the skilled archer.

Renner’s accident involved being run over by a snow removal vehicle at his Nevada home. He sustained significant injuries, including broken bones and blood loss. Following extensive medical care, Renner has undergone a lengthy rehabilitation process.

In a recent interview, Renner himself addressed the possibility of returning to the MCU. He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m always game. I’m gonna be strong enough, that’s for sure.” This positive outlook aligns with reports from late 2023 showing Renner back on set for season 3 of his show ‘Mayor of Kingstown.’

While Renner’s return seems likely, the specifics of his involvement in future MCU projects remain unclear. His character, Clint Barton, passed the Hawkeye mantle to Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) in the Disney+ series ‘Hawkeye’ (2021). This opens the door for a potential co-sharing of the Hawkeye role, or perhaps a mentor-mentee dynamic between the two archers.

The MCU is known for its interconnected storylines and ever-growing roster of characters. With several new Disney+ series and films on the horizon, there are numerous opportunities for Hawkeye to appear. Whether it’s a cameo, a supporting role, or even a standalone Hawkeye project, fans can likely expect to see Renner return in some capacity.
