The day after hosting the Academy Awards, Jimmy Kimmel, 56, said in his Jimmy Kimmel Live! monologue that Cena’s audacious moment was intended as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Oscars streaker. Kimmel recalled the famous streaker who ran across the stage nude, and he told Cena, 46, that he asked her to present the Oscar for Best Costume Design while bare-chested, using only a well-placed envelope.

Even with Cena’s comic skills, it was extremely difficult to get the segment on the air. Kimmel detailed the close examination and multiple meetings that went into the bit, including talks about the dimensions of the envelope and how to fasten it to Cena’s physique.

As per Rob Mills, executive vice president of Walt Disney Television, steps were taken to guarantee Cena’s modesty while complying with FCC regulations.

To avoid accidents, Mills underlined the significance of upholding decency standards for live television, which include covering any possible bulge or exposed crack and fastening the envelope to Cena’s posterior.
