Jon Bernthal will once again embody Frank Castle, the Punisher, in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, the latest Sony–Marvel collaboration starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker. Bernthal first donned the skull-emblazoned body armour in Netflix’s 2016 series ‘Daredevil’ before headlining his own two-season spin-off, ‘The Punisher’, in 2017. His latest appearance as Castle was in the Disney+ series ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, and he is set to lead a Disney+ special in 2026 directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will mark Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing as the web-slinger, succeeding ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ (2017), ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ (2019) and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021). While plot details remain tightly guarded, Holland told CinemaCon attendees via video that the film serves as a fresh start after the cliffhanger ending of ‘No Way Home’.
