The well-known actor who starred in 'Wicked,' 'Bridgerton,' and 'Jurassic World Rebirth,' Jonathan Bailey, has announced that he will take a leap from acting in 2026. After three demanding years on screen, Bailey now plans to focus his energies on his idea, the 'Shameless Fund,' which he created because he wants to actually help LGBTQ+ communities.

His declaration emphasizes the value of passion projects and the well-considered priorities that have contributed to the actor's growing prominence.

Redirecting Spotlight to Philanthropy

After working "solidly for approximately three years now," Bailey stated in a British GQ interview on that he believes it is time to take a break from acting and "stop acting for a while next year" in order to fully devote himself to his passion project—'The Shameless Fund.' His first several months off will be spent building solid organizational foundations and hiring the best team. To highlight his goal, he highlighted a shocking statistic: "only 1p of every £100 raised in the UK goes to the LGBTQ+ community," highlighting the urgent need for targeted charitable initiatives.

Combining activism and creativity is one of Bailey's most notable tactics. In a colorful partnership with the British eyewear company Cubitts, he created pink-framed "Shameless Fund" shades. They have a deeper function, which is to raise money and awareness for LGBTQ+ organizations, in addition to being daring stylistically. By wearing the specs, celebrities like Cynthia Erivo and Scarlett Johansson have contributed to the campaign's increased visibility. The Fund's other artistic endeavours, such as the "Drink Your Milk" T-shirt partnership with Loewe, demonstrate the potential for activism and artistic expression to coexist.

Bailey's decision to take a break comes at a pivotal point in his career, with the release of 'Wicked: For Good' on 21st November and 'Jurassic World Rebirth' already under his belt. Additionally, he also recently completed 103 performances of 'Richard II' without missing a single show. He now intends to relax by cycling and traveling while carefully constructing the charity's infrastructure to optimize its impact going forward.
