Joseph Quinn of ‘Stranger Things’ Reflects on Awkward Encounter With Taylor Swift
Joseph Quinn fondly recalls his memorable encounter with Taylor Swift, sharing the amusing story during a recent episode of the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast.
The 30-year-old ‘Stranger Things’ star described the “cringe” moment when he first met Swift, explaining, “I met Taylor Swift once, and I said, ‘You’re Taylor Swift.’ She was very funny.” Quinn recounted how he complimented Swift on her show, ‘Stranger Things’, to which she responded positively. Reflecting on his awkward comment, Quinn admitted, “I remember thinking like that was f—ing stupid. But she was very good-humoured about it.”

When asked if they were on good terms now, Quinn humorously replied, “Excellent, yeah, great terms,” teasing that he might even be featured on one of her future albums. Despite not disclosing the exact date of their meeting, Swift, 34, shares a connection with Quinn’s ‘Stranger Things’ co-star, Sadie Sink, who appeared in the 2021 short film for Swift’s extended version of ‘All Too Well.’
Quinn, who portrayed Eddie Munson in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4, expressed his openness to returning to the series, despite his character’s uncertain fate. He praised the show’s creators and hinted at a potential epic return.
Outside of ‘Stranger Things’, Quinn has been exploring film projects, including his upcoming role as Johnny Storm, a.k.a. The Human Torch, in the new ‘Fantastic Four’ movie. He credits Lupita Nyong’o for her encouragement and insights into entering the superhero film world, describing her guidance as supportive and encouraging.
