Julia Roberts takes on a powerful role in 'After the Hunt', a tense psychological thriller from director Luca Guadagnino, best known for 'Challengers'. Released by Amazon MGM Studios, the newly unveiled trailer teases a drama set in academia, where ethics, power, and past secrets collide.
In the film, Roberts plays a college professor whose world unravels when a student, played by Ayo Edebiri, accuses fellow professor Hank, portrayed by Andrew Garfield, of sexual misconduct. The accusation ignites controversy and tension across the campus, leading Roberts’ character to confront a long-buried secret from her own past.
Described by the studio as a “gripping psychological drama,” After the Hunt explores the complex dynamics of institutional power, generational divides, and the shadows of personal history. Set against the backdrop of a modern university and the ongoing cultural reckoning sparked by the #MeToo movement, the story challenges characters—and audiences—to wrestle with uncomfortable truths.
