Katy Perry Endorses Jelly Roll as Her ‘American Idol’ Replacement

One most notable candidates to succeed Katy Perry on ‘American Idol’ is Katy Perry herself.

After the live event on Monday, 15th April the 39-year-old singer spoke with E! News about potential replacements for her as a judge when she leaves this year.

Perry praised Jelly Roll’s energetic presence on the show and showed her respect for him. He had the charisma to be a successful presidential candidate or spiritual leader, according to her description. Jelly Roll has such powerful persuasion skills, Perry stressed, that he could sell her anything.

She praised him wholeheartedly for coming on the show, saying it would be great to have him with any of the other competitors. Perry stated that while she is open to considering any candidate, it is crucial to choose a judge who will not hesitate to offer candid criticism tactfully.

Perry announced her seven-season retirement from ‘American Idol’ in February when appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! She made suggestions on further endeavours for later in 2024, including new music. Perry stressed how much she loved the show, but she also said she wanted to look into new chances that fit with her own pace.

Perry made references to having discussions regarding her leaving plans with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, two other judges. She told them how much she loved them and that they knew she was leaving, especially after seeing her spend time in the studio recording new music.

With her departure, Perry’s tenure on ‘American Idol’ comes to a close, but she still treasures her time on the program and looks forward to new experiences.
