Katy Perry Stuns in Towering Gown And Pays Tribute to 7 Seasons on ‘American Idol’ Finale

The singer has served as a judge on ‘American Idol’ for seven seasons and celebrated her final episode during the season 22 finale. Perry wore two special outfits for the occasion, each paying tribute to her time on the show.

During the emotional finale, Perry performed with third-place contestant Jack Blocker in a striking silver corset dress featuring a massive skirt adorned with the faces of 168 former Idol contestants—the top 24 from each of the seven seasons she judged. She stood on a tall platform to showcase the towering ensemble.

To honour her time on the show, Perry’s skirt featured the top 24 contestants from each season, creating a fun surprise as more and more contestants’ faces were revealed.

In an Instagram post, she shared her excitement, captioning the finale look with “7 years.” The post also included a video of a team carrying the sprawling dress into the studio.

Perry wore another significant outfit during the broadcast—a gold breastplate adorned with seven 3D roses, symbolising the seven seasons she was on Idol. She paired the corset top with a floor-length white skirt. Perry joined Idol as a judge alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie in 2018 for the show’s revival on ABC after its original run on Fox.

After seven seasons, she announced her departure from the reality series on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, hinting at more projects, including new music, coming later in the year.
