Kelly Clarkson Credits Prescription Medication, Not Ozempic For Weight Loss

During an enlightening conversation on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ the multi-talented host engaged in a delightful exchange with the legendary Whoopi Goldberg. Clarkson commenced their interaction by complimenting Goldberg’s youthful appearance, expressing her awe at how the esteemed actress seems to defy the passage of time. “Every time I run into you, you look younger! You’re like Benjamin Button. It’s crazy every time you walk in!” Clarkson exclaimed, her words laced with admiration.

Goldberg, ever gracious, attributed her radiant glow to a significant weight loss journey. “First of all, it’s all the weight I’ve lost. I’ve lost almost two people,” she revealed, her accomplishment evident in her vibrant presence. “I am doing that wonderful shot that works for folks who need some help, and it’s been really good for me.”

Clarkson, herself no stranger to the challenges of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, quickly acknowledged her own remarkable weight loss journey. “Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too because my bloodwork got so bad,” she confided, shedding light on the complexities of her personal health journey.

With candour and vulnerability, Clarkson elaborated, “My doctor chased me for two years, and I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems. Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, but it’s not. It’s something else.” She went on to explain that the medication she had opted for aids in breaking down sugar, a crucial aspect of her health management, as her body “doesn’t do it right.” Clarkson was quick to clarify that, contrary to popular speculation, she was not on Ozempic – one of the FDA-approved prescription medications for individuals with type 2 diabetes, designed to impact satiety through its effects on the brain.

Clarkson also credited her recent move to New York City as a contributing factor in her newfound fitness regime. “Walking in the city is quite the workout,” she remarked, noting that she had incorporated infrared saunas and cold plunges into her routine as well.

During a later appearance on her talk show, Clarkson revealed to guest Kevin James that she had been diagnosed as pre-diabetic, a revelation that motivated her to take proactive steps towards a healthier lifestyle. “But I wasn’t shocked by it. They were like, ‘You’re pre-diabetic. You’re right on the borderline.’ And I was like, ‘But I’m not there yet,'” she quipped, acknowledging the urgency of the situation while maintaining her characteristic wit. “And then I waited two years and then I was like OK, I’ll do something about it.”
