Kevin Costner's Film Studio Plans Unveiled in Utah

Fresh off his divorce from ex-wife Christine, Kevin Costner, 69, is diving into a new venture — the construction of a state-of-the-art film studio in St. George, Utah, named Territory Film Studios. Situated about 30 minutes from Utah's scenic Zion National Park, the studio will encompass 152,750 square feet of studio space in an industrial complex near the city's airport.

St. George's mayor, Michele Randall, disclosed the studio plans during a recent State of the City address, with groundbreaking expected in the spring or summer, contingent on permit processes. The complex will feature a "Costner-themed" restaurant, providing catering services.

Costner's connection to Utah deepened during the filming of his upcoming series, ‘Horizon: An American Saga’. Faced with challenges finding suitable shooting locations, the acclaimed actor was inspired to establish a film studio in the area. Joyce Kelly of Utah's Greater Zion Tourism Office shared that Costner has developed a fondness for the state, intending to return to film Horizon's third and fourth instalments.

The announcement coincides with Costner's finalized divorce from Christine. The couple, married in 2004, officially ended their marriage on 16th February. Despite earlier challenges, they reached an agreeable resolution in September, agreeing to joint custody of their three children: Cayden, Hayes and Grace.

Amidst his Utah film studio endeavour, Costner is not slowing down. He's set to star in and produce an untitled feature film, a passion project directed by Ariel Vromen. The actor's dynamic post-divorce plans demonstrate his unwavering commitment to his craft and ongoing creative pursuits.
