Kim Kardashian opened up about her seven-year marriage to Kanye West during the season 7 premiere of 'The Kardashians,' reflecting on the challenges she faced during and after their relationship. At the time, she was balancing filming 'All's Fair,' the Ryan Murphy series starring alongside Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, and Niecy Nash-Betts.

Kim revealed that her stress levels had increased while navigating her interactions with Kanye West, noting that her psoriasis, which had been under control since the divorce, had begun resurfacing. She explained that the stress largely stemmed from her responsibility to protect their four children—North, 12; Saint, 9; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 6—during periods when West exhibited erratic behaviour

Kim Kardashian on Handling Kids

She emphasised that her primary concern has always been the safety and emotional well-being of her children, acknowledging that while adults around her may handle situations, her focus is always on shielding her kids from negative experiences.

Kim Kardashian on Experiencing "Stockholm Syndrome"

Reflecting on her past relationship with Kanye West, Kim admitted she often felt a sense of responsibility and a desire to help him, describing it as akin to experiencing "Stockholm syndrome." She shared that during her marriage, she would frequently feel obligated to stay and support West, even when it was personally challenging. However, since their divorce, she no longer feels that same burden of personal responsibility, which she described as a bittersweet relief.

Kim also addressed misconceptions circulating online, clarifying that she does not have the "luxury" of avoiding Kanye West entirely due to their shared parenting responsibilities.

She explained that despite social media speculation about custody, Kanye West has rarely reached out to see the children, and she must navigate the challenges of co-parenting while maintaining rational boundaries. She stressed that the situation is a divorce, not a kidnapping, emphasising the distinction between public perception and reality.
