Timothée Chalamet's Acceptance Speech
During his acceptance speech, Chalamet praised director Josh Safdie, calling him a genius and highlighting his creativity and dedication. He described Safdie as the kind of artist he aspires to be—passionate, true to himself, and constantly pushing boundaries.
Chalamet stars in and produced Safdie's A24 film 'Marty Supreme', playing Marty Mauser, a determined character inspired by a real-life Jewish-American table tennis pioneer. The film's ensemble cast also includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Leary, Tyler the Creator, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.
Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi praised Chalamet's performance as a milestone in his career, describing it as a deeply human portrayal of ambition and longing, and one of the standout performances of the year.
