Whisperings began when fans noticed billboard adverts featuring lyrics from ‘Survive’ appearing in both Glasgow — Capaldi’s hometown — and Castle Cary, close to the Glastonbury site.
Attention has now turned to a mystery ‘TBA’ slot on the Pyramid Stage at 4:55pm on Friday. With a 35-minute set scheduled before acts like Alanis Morissette, Biffy Clyro, and The 1975, many believe this could mark Capaldi’s triumphant return — possibly as a continuation of his 2023 performance, which he was forced to cut short due to an onstage episode linked to Tourette’s. Despite the interruption, fans helped him finish the set, and the moment received widespread praise and empathy from both audiences and the wider public.
Reflecting on that experience, Capaldi later shared that he needed to take time off to prioritise his health, calling the cancellation of his tour “the most difficult decision of my life”.
