Lil Wayne Backs Drake With 'Not Like Us' Lyric Change at Las Vegas Concert

After months of silence regarding the ongoing feud, hip-hop legend Lil Wayne broke his silence during a performance at Las Vegas’ Zouk Nightclub. While onstage, Wayne showed his support for fellow Young Money rapper Drake by tweaking the intro of their collaboration ‘The Motto’ with lyrics from Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ diss track aimed at Drake.

Instead of rapping the song’s original chorus (“They not like us”), Wayne changed the lyrics to “They don’t like us" while dancing and displaying his OVO owl chain to the crowd, according to fan-captured footage.

He then transitioned into his verse from the 2011 hit. This act of support comes after Lamar referenced Wayne in his chart-topping anthem 'Not Like Us,' where he rapped, “F---ed on Wayne girl while he was in jail, that's connivin' / Then get his face tattooed like a bitch apologising'.”

The lyric refers to the alleged romantic involvement between Drake and Wayne’s then-girlfriend Tammy Torres while Wayne was in jail in 2010. Despite this, it seems the tension between the former Young Money Entertainment labelmates has subsided. The two rappers exchanged diss tracks in the weeks following the initial incident, with the feud seemingly culminating in Drake’s ‘The Heart Part 6’ and Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’, which once again topped the Billboard Hot 100 following its Compton-set music video release.

Lamar performed ‘Not Like Us’ multiple times during his Ken & Friends: The Pop Out concert in Inglewood, California. The event featured numerous musicians from historically feuding sections of South Los Angeles coming together for a moment of unity.

“But you ain’t never seen this many sections on one stage. Let the world see this. We need to show everything,” Lamar told the Kia Forum crowd. “This is unity. Unity from all sides of LA, East LA to West, Crips, Bloods, this makes me emotional.”
