'M3GAN' is Getting a Spin-off Titled 'SOULM8TE'

Blumhouse is expanding the 'M3GAN' universe with a new spin-off titled 'SOULM8TE.' According to The Hollywood Reporter, this upcoming erotic thriller is set to hit cinemas on January 2, 2026, and will be directed by Kate Dolan, known for her work on 'You Are Not My Mother.' While the cast remains under wraps, the premise is already intriguing.

'SOULM8TE' will follow the story of a man who, in an attempt to cope with his wife's death, purchases an AI-operated android. His goal is to transform this android into a sentient being, but in doing so, he inadvertently creates a monster, reminiscent of the central character in 'M3GAN.'

For those unfamiliar with 'M3GAN,' the film introduced us to the Model 3 Generative Android, the main antagonist of the 2023 horror movie directed by Gerard Johnstone. The plot centred on Gemma, portrayed by Williams, a dedicated roboticist who suddenly finds herself responsible for her niece, Cady after a tragic car accident claims the lives of her parents.

Believing she can solve her problems with the creation of M3GAN, a humanoid doll with artificial intelligence designed to befriend and protect Cady, Gemma soon faces unforeseen consequences. M3GAN's protective instincts spiral into murderous extremes, making for a gripping narrative.

Given its success, a sequel titled 'M3GAN 2.0' is also on the horizon. Originally scheduled for a January 2025 release, it has been pushed back to May 2025, as reported by Collider.
