Margot Robbie is in early discussions to team up with Tim Burton on a high-profile remake of 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman' for Warner Bros. If the deal moves forward, Margot Robbie would not only star in the film but also produce it through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner, alongside partners Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara.

The project marks a modern reimagining of the 1958 cult classic sci-fi horror film, which tells the story of a wealthy woman who transforms into a giant after a close encounter with an alien spacecraft. Fueled by betrayal and rage, she uses her newfound size to exact revenge on her unfaithful husband. Tim Burton, known for his iconic and visually distinctive storytelling, has signed on to direct and produce the film, with Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper also attached as producers. Kai Dolbashian is on board as executive producer.

Gillian Flynn wrote the Initial Script

'Gone Girl' author Gillian Flynn wrote the first draft of the script but left the project because of scheduling issues. As a result, the producers are currently seeking a new writer. Robbie's final involvement as lead actor is expected to depend on the direction of the finished screenplay.

The potential collaboration would unite two of Warner Bros.' most bankable forces. After the runaway success of 'Barbie' — which grossed $1.45 billion globally in 2023 and became the highest-grossing film in the studio’s 100-year history — the studio entered into a multi-year, first-look deal with Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment. The company continues to expand its creative slate, including an upcoming 'Ocean’s Eleven' prequel with 'Twisters' director Lee Isaac Chung in negotiations to helm.

Margot Robbie, a three-time Academy Award nominee, will next appear in Warner Bros. 'Wuthering Heights', Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of the classic Emily Brontë novel, scheduled to release in February next year.

On the other hand, Burton’s recent success with 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice', the long-awaited sequel to his 1988 supernatural comedy, further solidifies his enduring box office appeal. The 2024 release pulled in $452 million worldwide, demonstrating strong fan interest in his signature style even decades after the original.

The news of Margot Robbie and LuckyChap’s possible involvement in 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman' was first reported by The Insneider. Warner Bros. hasn’t made an official statement about it yet.
