Kevin Feige recently shared some intriguing updates about the highly anticipated 'Blade' reboot. He hinted that the approach for 'Blade' will be influenced by how the studio has handled the 'Deadpool and Wolverine' franchises.
The 'Blade' reboot has been on the horizon since 2019, with Mahershala Ali set to play the iconic half-vampire. However, its release has faced numerous delays due to changes in the film’s creative team. Despite these setbacks, the film is expected to hit theatres next year.

Feige, in a recent interview with BlackTree TV promoting 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' discussed whether the R-rated nature of these films will affect 'Blade''s development. When asked if the rating of 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' due out on July 26, would impact 'Blade,' Feige confirmed this influence.
"I think that’s right," Feige responded. "For the last two years, as we’ve been working on 'Blade,' the priority has been to ensure we're making the right movie without rushing it."

Feige acknowledged the success of previous R-rated 'Blade' films and noted that, like Deadpool, the character of Blade inherently fits this rating. Last month saw the departure of director Yann Demange from the project, marking the second director exit after Bassam Tariq left in 2022 just before filming was set to start.
The script for 'Blade' has seen contributions from at least five different writers, including Michael Green, known for 'Logan' and 'Alien: Covenant,' before the current writer, Nic Pizzolatto, took over.
