Nova TV Series: Kevin Feige Shares Update About The New Show

Marvel movies, series and comics have firmly established themselves in our hearts and minds. We’re always eager to see which superhero will be introduced next. Now that Marvel Studios is in Phase 5, right in the middle of the Multiverse Saga, there’s still room for new superheroes to join the fray.

One of the most speculated projects has been Nova. Fans have been eagerly awaiting any announcements, and Kevin Feige has finally given us something to look forward to. He confirmed the long-rumoured Nova project, which is now being developed as a series for Disney+. This series will focus on Richard Rider, the first Nova character from the comics. However, we’ll have to wait a bit longer as Feige mentioned it’s “three or four years out.”

Feige didn’t reveal much else about Nova, but we might hear more when Marvel Studios takes the stage at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Nova’s first hint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) came in 2014’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ where the Nova Corps played a significant role, and Rhomann Dey (John C. Reilly) laid the groundwork for Richard Rider’s story.

In ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ the destruction of the Nova Corps’ home planet, Xandar, was mentioned, but we never saw the events unfold. By the time the Nova series airs, it will have been nearly a decade since ‘Infinity War.’ This series could become a standalone hit that helps set the stage for Phase 7, much like ‘Shang-Chi’ and ‘Eternals’ did for Phase 4.

There have been numerous rumours and updates about the Nova project over the years, with much speculation about who would write the script. Marvel Studios’ Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation had even confirmed the series was in development at one point.
